I also attended NTC occasionally.  I love to learn!  And I love the vocational/technical setting! I enjoyed 9 months in their LPN program, but sadly life happened and I took a leave of absence and haven't returned.  I did though just attend and complete their course in Phlebotomy and become an OK State Certified Phlebotomist!  :-)

Professional Development:

I love attending the Solution Tree workshops – especially those taught by Meg Ormiston; I really love Great Expectations training courses; plus I love-love taking any courses at our local vocational-technical college NTC!

Current Position:

This is my third time teaching at Jay (I’m always determined to come back home).  This time around I have been teaching at JMS since August 2002.

I will be teaching your child Computer Keyboarding and Computer Literacy.  Some years I teach Journalism and sometimes I teach Personal Financial Literacy.  Occasionally I get to teach or oversee another subject such as Edgenuity Spanish or Khan Academy Pre-Algebra.  It doesn't matter---I love teaching new things as much as I love being a student and learning new things; so I'm even excited when I get to learn anything new along with my students.

Previous Position:

  • May 1989 - January 1990   American-International Charolais Association
  • August 1993 - July 1994:   Jay Middle School
  • August 1995 - May 1996:   Downtown Tulsa First Baptist Church Pre-School
  • August 1996 - July 1999:   Jay Middle School
  • August 2001 - July 2002:   Grove High School
  • August 2002 -    Present:   Jay Middle School

Family Information:

I now have my last child enrolled in our school:  Cadince is my 18 year-old Jay High School Senor – she is the last of my four children to attend JPS.  My sons Cal (Bulldog Class of 2014) and Case (Bulldog Class of 2016)  are college students. My oldest daughter Camrine  works part-time as the City Clerk of the City of Jay, plus she and her husband own our family-run business – Jay Feed & More!  And very important-she is the mother of my grand daughter, Rhymee Grace, who is Amazing and is a 6th Grade Bulldog; a new Kindergarten Bulldog – 5 year-old Michael Cru, and 4 year-old Aubrey Lynn – a future Bulldogs! I also have a grand that doesn’t live in Jay:  Avery Reece who lives in Owasso.

My children also have a step brothers that are Bulldog alumni.  Cole Oswalt graduated in 2020, and Carter Oswalt is a graduate of Jay High School Class of 2016 with Case.

Our pet family includes the only good cat in the world-Salem and our farm/guard dog Chief, and numerous farm/show animals at our crazy animal-farm petting zoo – lol

I LOVE spending time with my kids!  That's what God put me here for!

If I'm not at school, I am usually at a school function or sporting event watching my own kids or my school kids...rooting for the Bulldogs!!!

Personal Information:

If I am actually completely away from school, my hobbies are still doing anything with my kids, friends, and family or other kids.  I spend most of that time camping somewhere.  We also love to gig, float, swim; pretty much anything that is near or on a creek, lake, or even a pool-and ideally on a beach somewhere (which doesn't happen near often enough)! Plus I have discovered kayaking and love that I can spend a day in nature both exercising and relaxating – –  I enjoy that I can go with friends or family or get away alone.  As a family we are also big movies watchers; we go to theaters and rent at home.  My only other hobby is that I LOVE To Read!--I try to instill that interest in my students by discussing and sharing books with them, and gearing projects around reading.
