BULLDOG Football
JH Head Coach – Jeff Stapleton
Jeff Stapleton is currently in his 33rd year of coaching. Coach Stapleton has been at Jay since 1993 and was the Bulldogs’ Head Wrestling Coach from 1994-2021. Currently, he is the Athletic Director and the Defensive Line Coach for the 6th – 12th grade Bulldogs.
JH Head Coach – Josh Cawyer
Josh Cawyer has been coaching since 2014. Coach Cawyer is now in his 2nd year at Jay Schools. He coaches Football, Wrestling, and track. He coaches Wide Receivers and Secondary in Football.
JH Assistant Coach – Eddie Barnwell
Eddie Barnwell is entering his 36th year of coaching. He graduated from Jay High School in 1980 and started his career at Jay in 1984. Eddie has been married to his wife, Leann, for 39 years and is the father to Caleb, Case, and Kelsey. Before returning to Jay Coach Barnwell spent 5 years coaching football at Bentonville West High School. He is the Athletic Director at Jay Public Schools. During Fall Football Season he is the Varisty Bulldogs Head Coach and Junior High Dogs Assistant Coach. In the Spring Season, he is the Head Varsity Boys Track Coach and Assistant Junior High Track Coach.
JH Assistant Coach – Brandon O’Field
Brandon O’Field is entering his 25th year of coaching. Brandon attended Jay High School in 1994 and 1995. He graduated from Ferguson High School in Loveland, Colorado in 1996. Brandon has been married to his wife, Kim, for 27 years and is the father to Aly.
Coach O’Field spent 23 years coaching football and baseball at high schools in Colorado before moving to Jay. During Fall Football Season he is the Varsity and Junior High Bulldogs Assistant Coach. In the Winter Season he is the Assistant Power Lifting Coach. He is the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach during Spring Season.
JH Assistant Coach – Taylor Poe
JH Assistant Coach – Garrett Evans
Garrett Evans is currently the Jay Schools Varsity Wrestling Head Coach and Assistant Junior High Coach. During Fall Season he is also an Assistant Junior High & 9th Grade Football Coach. In the Spring Season, he is the Junior High Bulldogs Head Baseball Coach.
Evans is a 2010 graduate from Cushing where he was a Wrestling 2X State Champion, 3X Dual State Champion, and a member of the Oklahoma 4A Wrestling All-State Team.
Evans was also a 4X DII Wrestling Collegiate National Qualifier and 3X Wrestling All-American for Ouachita Baptist University.
Coach Evans made coaching stops in Texas, Pryor, and Bixby.
Garrett and wife, Abby, have 3 children – Rafe, Parker, and Blake.
